Samsung have announced that they will be adding another version to their Samsung Galaxy Tab lineup. The Korean company will be releasing a child friendly version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. For the most part, the “Tab 3 Kids” will be the same as the normal version. That includes featuring a 7 inch tablet, with a resolution of 1024 x 600, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory and the option to add a microSD card, as well as having a 3 megapixel camera. The Kid version will also come with Android but, it has been customized so it is very child friendly and as expected will come preloaded with educational apps and games, along with entertainment apps and eBooks and more.
As well as having a customized version of Android, Samsung have included a rugged bumper case for the tablet so it should withstand the majority of knocks it will be subjected to by kids. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will go on sale next month in Korea. It will also be available in the UK, Europe, the US, China and Africa. How much it will cost though, is currently unknown but, considering the “normal” Tab 3 retails for £180, the Kid version should retail for around the same price as well.
