O2 UK to offer 4G from August 29th
Currently the only UK network that offers 4G speeds is Everything Everywhere and EE have been offering the service for a little while now and as such they could pretty much charge anything they wanted for it as there is no competition in the UK. O2 and Vodafone team up to offer 4G in the UK
UK carriers O2 and Vodafone have agreed a deal which will see them combine their network infrastructure in a bid to roll out 4G within the UK more quickly. By 2015, 98% of the UK should have 4G coverage by sharing roughly 18,500 masts between the two networks and will have mobile internet speeds of at least 2Mbps. Samsung Galaxy S 2 free on O2 Flash Sale from £21 a month
From time to time, O2 have flash sales which typically last for one weekend only. This weekend it’s the Samsung Galaxy S 2’s turn to be in the spotlight. The handset is normally only free on their £37 a month contracts however, with the flash sale you could technically get the handset for free on a £21 a a month contract. O2 Dell Streak Android 2.1 update coming 1st September
UK carrier O2 have apparently confirmed the much circulated rumour that the Dell Streak handset will recieve the anticipated Android 2.1 update tomorrow on the network.
O2 previously announced that release of the update would be early September and Engadget have confirmed with O2 who have now said that the update is to be rolled out on the 1st or 2nd of September which is obviously great news for Dell Streak owners.
