VIA announces ‘NetNote’

Intel are already working on bridging the gap between netbooks and notebooks with the CULV devices, making use of the NVIDIA ION chipset. It appears that Intel aren’t the only ones who are creating a device in the middle of netbooks and notebooks. VIA have announced the newest mobile computing device category to be NetNote. NetNote’s will combine the Surfboard motherboard with the turnkey system design.

NetNotes will feature displays between 10.2 inches and 12.1 along with the ability to support 1080p HD video and have an optional HDMI port. The VIA VX855 media system processor will be combined with the VIA C7-M or VIA Nano processors, creating two NetNote Surfboard motherboards.
